How Shall I Serve

THE LADIES OF TRINITY
Soon after
Through the early years the several fund-raising efforts included, during one springtime, a garden plant sale. Eventually, the Trinity Church Great Sale, an extensive rummage sale, became the project of choice, and has been held approximately every twelve to eighteen months. The Ladies receive items for the sale and mark prices, arrange displays, and always needs help from the men and other women of the parish to furnish sale items and to lend their physical presence and help on the days of the sale.
Among the community service projects over the years was a successful effort entitled, “Make a Baby Quilt for Mercy Hospital,” in which nine baby quilts were produced under the tutelage of Peggy McIntosh, then president and accomplished quilter. Among other works, for several years cancer bags were sewn for St. Luke’s Hospital.

The meetings usually consist of a short business meeting and a program, followed by a brown bag lunch with dessert furnished by the Hostess of the Month. All women of the parish are invited and encouraged to attend the meetings, which are informal, with a warm, friendly atmosphere. We always hope some of the younger women of the parish will join us, to bring their new ideas and enthusiasm, and perhaps to found a new “Junior Ladies of Trinity.” Please consider this your engraved invitation to come visit one of our meetings. You’ll always be welcome, and it’s lovely for church women to get to know each other.
We also would like to know of anyone in the Parish who has a special interest or talent that they are willing to share with us. There is a lovely piano and a fine kitchen in the Undercroft, so we can accommodate you if you just tell us what you might need for your program.
The Ladies of Trinity maintain a calling committee, to keep the parish notified of parish events, timely appeals, illnesses and other news. They also do preparations for receptions and other social events at the church.
Please come; join us! Find old friends and discover new ones. One of the joys of church membership is becoming better acquainted with each other and enjoying our time together serving the Lord. If you have questions, please call Peggy McIntosh or Sheila Lewallen. They’ll be glad to help.
